People regularly stop me and ask what perfume I am wearing. Not once in a while—often enough that I notice the pattern. And the answer is MERIT Retrospect.
Why that matters to me
Fragrance is incredibly personal, so I am never going to tell everyone that one perfume will smell the same on them or become their signature scent. What I can tell you is what happens when I wear this one: people notice it, they ask about it, and I love wearing it.

What it smells like
MERIT describes Retrospect as opening soft and clean, moving through a subtle floral center, and settling into a warm base of musk, vanilla and moss. The full note list includes bergamot, pear, ambrette and aldehydes on top; jasmine, rose, rosemary, violet and orris in the heart; and vanilla, musk and moss at the base.
It is an extrait de parfum rather than a lighter eau de parfum. MERIT currently describes it as nearly 30% fragrance oil and offers it in travel, full-size and value-size bottles. Those are brand-reported product facts; my recommendation comes from wearing it myself.
Why it fits the Tiffanie Standard
I would rather recommend something because it has earned a place in my real life than because it happens to be trending. Retrospect has done that for me.
